COMPLIANCE OFFICER

$18-20 per hour

 

STATUS:
Hourly/Non-Exempt

 

HOURS:
Varies; however at this time, vacancy is for Graveyard 10PM to 6AM

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Familiarity with Tribal gaming preferred
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to produce concise reports
- Knowledge of security and surveillance practices
- Ability to take direction, follow instructions and work independently
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a smoking environment
- Knowledge of documentation and record keeping principles and practices
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

- High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Two years experience in government regulatory activities, gaming or a closely related field; or combination of education and experience.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Compliance Supervisor.  The position is responsible for the oversight of gaming activities in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations for the purpose of protecting the assets and interests of the Barona Band of Mission Indians and to insure the continued integrity of Tribal gaming.

GRANT WRITER

 

DEPARTMENT: 
Grants

 

LOCATION:  
Barona Government Building

 

SALARY/WAGE:
To Be Determined

 

STATUS:
Hourly/Non-Exempt

 

HOURS:
Part Time (24 hours/week)

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent writing skills necessary to prepare grant applications
- Knowledge of government and private funding sources and practices
- 2+ years management experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with
  others in a professional and courteous manner
- Must have the ability to understand quasi-legal federal instructions and guidelines
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Proficient with Microsoft products
- Must be highly confidential

 

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

- Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years' research and writing experience; minimum of
  one year grant writing experience at a professional level.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides support to the Tribal Council by identifying appropriate grants and other funding opportunities. Responsible for researching grants, writing grants, and the compilation and submission of funding proposals and grant applications as approved by the Tribal Council. Responsible for monitoring compliance and reporting requirements, and identifying opportunities for enhancing long range funding prospects.
