SURVEILLANCE OPERATOR

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

Able to sit for long periods of time
- Read small characters on computer monitors/video monitors in dimly lit conditions
- Multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Working knowledge of surveillance equipment and controls
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of DVD/CD Burning software, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Advanced knowledge of slot machines, blackjack, craps, roulette, casino war,
  baccarat and poker style games

- Math and analytical skills

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

- High School Diploma or GED

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is under the general direction of the Barona Gaming Commission and reports directly to the Surveillance Supervisor. The position assures operational and departmental compliance to all relevant Minimum Internal Control Standards and requires the operation of surveillance equipment for the purpose of safeguarding the assets of the Barona Tribe, and for the safety and protection of guests and staff.

GRANT WRITER

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent writing skills necessary to prepare grant applications
- Knowledge of government and private funding sources and practices
- 2+ years management experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with
  others in a professional and courteous manner
- Must have the ability to understand quasi-legal federal instructions and guidelines
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Proficient with Microsoft products
- Must be highly confidential

 

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

- Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years' research and writing experience; minimum of
  one year grant writing experience at a professional level.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides support to the Tribal Council by identifying appropriate grants and other funding opportunities. Responsible for researching grants, writing grants, and the compilation and submission of funding proposals and grant applications as approved by the Tribal Council. Responsible for monitoring compliance and reporting requirements, and identifying opportunities for enhancing long range funding prospects. HOURS:
56 hour work week schedule (48 on, 96 off)

- Class C California Driver’s License
- CA EMT-P Certificate & SD County Accreditation at time of hire
- ACLS certification at time of hire
- CPR certification

EDUCATION LEVEL:

- Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge would be: Previous experience working as a firefighter, EMT, and/or paramedic. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in the Fire Sciences

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Fire Department protects the Barona Indian Reservation, which includes the Barona Resort and Casino with an eight story hotel. In addition to being on the type 1 and type 3 Central Zone strike team rotation, the department also provides automatic aid and response to neighboring communities within both the Central and East Zone of the San Diego Operational Area.

HEAD LIFEGUARD

Seasonal Position - 20 hours/week

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS:

- First aid and CPR certicates
- Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification
- Management experience

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

HS Diploma or equivalent

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Must be age 21 or over, have at least 5 years’ experience as a lifeguard or aquatics instructor.  Will supervise and implement swim programs that included swimming lessons and well supervised free swim.  Responsible for staff scheduling, and training staff aquatics.  Will report directly to the Recreation Director.

- Minimum of two years of lifeguard experience required
- Ability to problem-solve and provide leadership to a team of six lifeguard’s in the
  Head lifeguard’s absence.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
